"The Board of Commissioners establishes ordinances and policies for County operation. The Board also acts on certain citizen requests, such as zoning matters. The County Administrator's Office handles the day-to-day operations of government. As elected officials of the county, the five members of the Coweta County Board of Commissioners are ultimately responsible for county operations and activities."

Commissioner Al Smith made the motion to approve the rezoning, Commissioner Jeff Fisher seconded it, and Commissioner John Reidelbach cast the deciding vote. Chairman Bill McKenzie and Commissioner Bob Blackburn voted against the project.

Personal Opinion - The recent Project Sail vote passed with a 3-2 split. I noticed something very interesting about the vote split (as shown above). The commissioners who are up for re-election this year voted AGAINST the data center. The commissioners not up for re-election til 2028 voted FOR the data center. Since 3 were not up for re-election this year, they could allow the other two to come out against it so the public might not turn against them.
It reminds me of how Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski would often vote against Republican things, but only when it was a sure thing that it would pass. Often they would express concern. Looking at their voting records, you could also see that sometimes they would take turns if the vote was too close for both of them to oppose their party.
With that in mind, I don't trust ANY of these commissioners, no matter what they say publicly.

Administration
The Administrative staff is the liaison between the Board of Commissioners and county departments, as well as the general public. Operational decisions are channeled through this office for handling by the Board of Commissioners and once approved, are dispersed from the Administrator's Office for action.
