Avelo Airlines now has a CONTRACT with ICE!
Avelo Airline founder and CEO Andrew Levy is quoted as saying, “We realize this is a sensitive and complicated topic. After significant deliberations, we determined this charter flying will provide us with the stability to continue expanding our core scheduled passenger service and keep our more than 1,100 Crewmembers employed for years to come.” - Low-cost airline shrinks routes in order to fulfill ICE contract
There's now a site dedicated to protesting them - GROUND AVELO. They focus on making calls and sending emails, but also give other concrete strategies. Here are two quotes from their site -
“Avelo Airlines is the first commercial airline to sign a deportation charter contract with ICE. These flights are secretive and unmarked, with no guarantee of legal counsel or due process for the people being removed. Every day the contract continues, Avelo is profiting from tearing families apart — and gambling its business on mass deportations.”
“Avelo Airlines wants you to think they’re “refreshingly simple.” What they don’t put on the billboards and “hello, avelo” marketing posters: they’re the first commercial airline in the U.S. to sign a deportation charter contract with ICE. Unmarked, secretive flights. No guarantee of due process. Public money subsidizing mass deportations.”
Another great resource I follow on Substack, Notes from the Apocalypse, included a blurb about boycotting them. I highly recommend following or subscribing to his newsletter. It has great information about where to spend your money and where to boycott. New updates often. Here's what he had to say about Avelo:

While other airlines sell overpriced snacks, Avelo is busy selling out humanity by shuttling detained people to internment zones with the same casual cruelty they bring to baggage fees. If you wouldn’t book a seat on a cattle car, don’t book one on Avelo. Alternative: Flap your arms really fast.”
