trump's Boys Have to Wear Florsheim Shoes, Whether They Fit or Not.

This post is a fun one.  Instead of torturing the American people or other countries or groups he doesn't like, trump is torturing his own boot-lickers.

Here's a good explanation from Yahoo News

... the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump was guessing his allies’ foot size and then ordering them $145 Florsheim shoes they were subsequently too “afraid not to wear.”

“All the boys have them,” said one unnamed White House official, while another told the Journal, “It’s hysterical because everybody’s afraid not to wear them.”

According to the newspaper, “The president has taken to guessing people’s shoe size in front of them. He asks an aide to put in an order and, a week later, a brown Florsheim box arrives at the White House.”

From The Guardian -

Trump reportedly gifts cabinet members and White House visitors with Florsheim shoes.   Sitting behind the Resolute desk, Donald Trump fixed his gaze on JD Vance’s and Marco Rubio’s feet. “Marco, JD, you guys have s—y shoes,” said the US president, consulting a catalogue and asking their shoe size. Rubio said 11.5 and Vance 13. Trump leaned back in his chair and remarked: “You can tell a lot about a man by his shoe size.”

Trump’s shoe leather largesse will do little to dispel perceptions of his White House as a boys’ club. Research by the Brookings Institution found that his administration is the least diverse this century. In his first 300 days, the total share of women confirmed by the Senate was just 16%.

One cabinet member is said to have complained privately that the presidential gift forced him to retire his preferred Louis Vuitton shoes – though few appear willing to risk offending the boss by leaving the Florsheims unworn.

Rubio Bears the Brunt of the Humiliation

Not all of the shoes are a good fit for the recipients.  Some are too tight.  Some, like Marco Rubio's are way too big.  But they all wear them anyway.

From journalist Euan MacDonald - “Who buys shoes for other people? Mostly parents for their children.  Trump buying shoes for his cabinet is a way of belittling them and humiliating them. Rubio even has such a lack of dignity and self respect before Trump that he’s willing to humiliate himself by shuffling around in shoes that are too big for him.”

Florsheim is Suing Trump Over Tariffs - Does Trump Even Know This?

Wheyco Group, which owns Florsheim Shoes among others is suing the federal government over tariffs.

In its complaint, Weyco argues that the president exceeded his authority by imposing sweeping tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), and asks the court to declare those actions unlawful and order refunds with interest. The case also forms part of a broader wave of challenges brought by importers seeking to preserve their right to recover tariffs following Supreme
Court rulings limiting the use of IEEPA for trade measures.

Trump’s Weird Shoe Fetish Just Got Even More Embarrassing - Daily Beast -  Florsheim has been vocal about his opposition to the measures. “The idea behind the tariffs originally was pro-business, and it feels like somehow the pro-business part of this has gotten lost,” he told Spectrum News on Wednesday, claiming that at one point, he was paying more in tariffs than he was to actually produce shoes. “From a business planning standpoint, it’s been almost impossible.
